Hi everyone, this is my 2nd post in art fiends, you guys probably don't know who i am since i've been so quiet. here's a recent photo i took standing as a associate photographer in a wedding. critiques and comments are welcome! :)

Animation Mentor Week 4

This is week 4's assignment, animating a heavy and light ball, using only timing to sell the illusion of weight. I see quite a lot of errors I would like changed in this one, but my mentor seemed to like it well enough though, heh. The drawing above is the planning sketch.

Animation Mentor Week 3

These are the assignments for week3, bouncing ball, and pose Stu in an excited pose. I've yet to receive my E-Critique though. I'll update again when I get it.

Animation Mentor Week 2

This was my assignment for last week, sketch people outside, then choose one I like best (in terms of pose). Critique from my mentor tells me that

1) Not enough focus on line of action
2)I'm not "feeling" the pose, but just drawing what I see (thats true)
3)Need to describe state of the body more (is the hand relaxed? is that foot tense up?)
4)Push the pose of Stu a little more, oppose shoulders and hips (I knew this dammit, but I forgot to put it in when I was in the process of battling the rig to do what I want))

Week 1 Animation Mentor

I just started Animation Mentor not too long ago, and I'm gonna try and update my progress here as much as I can. Kind of like a motivation for me to remind myself how much I have to learn.

Actually this is near the end of week 1, this program is really awesome. The excitement of people learning animation here is so high its infectious.

My mentor for Class 1 is Jalil Sadool, he's an animator from Weta, currently working on James Cameron's Avatar. No real assignments for this week, next week I'm suppose to sketch people in various poses, then choose my favourite one and pose it out in 3D. I've already started sketching everyday, hopefully by the end of the week I'll have a nice pose, but man, people sure don't pose in very interesting ways on the MRT.

Ardous Journey

Woah this space is as dead as my DA profile...

Just to spice things up abit, this is a WIP of the piece I'm working on. Nope it's not relevant to the 'Explosion' theme. Worked on several pieces previously but scrapped them all cuz I dun like em. This is one that I quite like.

It's my take on Journey to the West. Yeah looks like one of those Buddhist characters I've drawn. And the dragon looks like Seadramon from Digimon.
